On Tuesday, the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association (KWCA) announced that Nutrien Ag Solutions of Beloit & Clay Center will be the official sponsor of the KWCA Academic Awards for the 2022-23 season.
Last year, 491 junior and senior athletes (boys and girls) were recognized with KWCA Academic All-State honors, and 93 teams received recognition in the Academic Team Championships.
For the upcoming season, the KWCA is excited to expand their recognition to all qualifying wrestlers, including freshmen and sophomores, in the Individual Academic All-State Awards.
"We are thrilled to partner with Nutrien Ag Solutions to recognize and honor the academic achievements of Kansas wrestling student-athletes," said KWCA Vice President Nathan Broeckelman.
Tom Naasz, Nutrien Ag Solutions of Beloit Location Manager, said, "Nutrien Ag Solutions is proud to support the KWCA in promoting the importance of academic excellence among student-athletes."
"Being a long-time supporter and proud wrestling dad, I am thrilled that our location can act as a sponsor for the KWCA Academic Awards. I am excited to see the organization expand this program to include freshman and sophomore athletes," said Sheldon Koppes, Nutrien Ag Solutions Clay Center Location Manager. "It is truly remarkable to witness athletes excel both on the mat and in their academic pursuits, and we are honored to be a part of recognizing and celebrating their achievements.
Through this partnership, the KWCA and Nutrien Ag Solutions hope to inspire and motivate student-athletes to strive for both athletic and academic success. The 2022-23 Academic Team and Individual honorees will be announced in the next few weeks.
