Mark your calendars for Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5 as it’s time for the 2019 “Fritz Knorr” Coaches Clinic and Awards/Hall of Fame Banquet! We are also proud to partner with USAW-Kansas who will hold their state meetings on Sunday, Oct. 6. This year we will be in a new location, the Quality Inn & Suites (Salina).
Sessions will kick off on Friday morning and go throughout the day, finishing with a coach's social that will include roundtable discussions.
Headlining this year’s clinic will be Nebraska Head Coach Mark Manning. Coach Manning has led the Huskers for the past 21 years where he has amassed a 234-88-3 record, making him the all-time winningest coach in program history.
Of note, Manning has coached 49 All-Americans, 4 National Champions, and has won numerous Coaching Honors including the Dan Gable Coach of the Year, Big 12 Coach of the year, and the Terry McCann USA Wrestling Freestyle Coach of the Year.

Each year we feature a clinician from one of our local collegiate programs. This year we are proud to announce that we will have both the Men's and Women's Head Coaches from Ottawa University, Colby Crank (M) and Mahdi Bigdely(W). Prior to the Friday Night Social, author and Shawnee Heights Head Coach Chad Parks will share some inspirational thoughts.
Kicking off Saturday morning with a pre-session, former Bluestem Head Coach, Pastor Kelly Benton of Wrestlers for Christ, will share a presentation on Transformational Coaching. Mark Lentz of KSHSAA will provide an in-person rules meeting on Saturday morning for coaches interested in taking care of this requirement.
In addition to our Hall of Fame inductees, Jeff Giles (Minneapolis), Jerry Fraser (Clay Center), and Jon Lippelmann (Scott City), the KWCA Executive Board will also provide plaques and recognition to each of last Spring’s award winners. A complete list of the winners can be found by visiting the awards section of our website. All coaches present at the clinic are encouraged to attend the banquet as part of your clinic package to help celebrate the many successes in our wrestling community.
We hope that you and your staff consider taking part in this weekend and help grow wrestling here in Kansas.
Registration can be completed online (coming soon) or by completing
